Hello and welcome, my name is Andrew Nelson Leonberger and I was born in an island called Guam on July 27, 1988. I graduated from Frederick Douglass High School located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. After high school, I went to college to study Web Design & Interactive Media at The Art Institute of Washington. I graduated on December 19, 2010 with a bachelor of fine arts.
Since the age of 8, I have enjoyed working with computers and being creative. My father introduced me to computers and gave me the inspiration to building them. I was also a serious gamer and I was interested in how the game designers made the textures for the character models. This introduced me into Photoshop 7 and notepad at the time.
A good friend from Australia started giving me tips and tutorials on how to use Adobe Photoshop and its extensions. I started learning more and more, gradually staying up over night exploring and creating art. I love and enjoy the digital art field because it gives me a path to open up many different experiences throughout my life, and music was my aid in being suc a creative person. While gaining these experiences, I developed a talent that uses my imagination to create art in an realistic environment. I love art with a passion and I will always enjoy learning new things.
My very first job was working for The Art Institute of Washington as a graphic designer. I created posters, flyers and stationary layouts for the AIW open house. After this job I started freelancing and my first client was a fashion online magazine called Quote Unquote Magazine which focused on fashion and lifestyle. I re-developed their entire site and became their lead Web Developer for about two years.
A week later after my graduation, I received an offer to work with an IT company called VersaTech Inc (www.versatechinc.com) as a Web Developer. VersaTech is sub-contracted by the FDA (www.fda.gov). My first task in working with Versatech was to develop a professional site using wordpress and to give off that IT environment feeling. I have received many compliments in making this site and plan to do many more to further my design concepts.
