“Evolution” is one of my latest artworks that I did for my desktop. The concept behind this piece is demonstrating the imagery of evolution. The way I illustrated this concept was by implementing important  aspects that describes the word evolution. For example I placed a galaxy behind my logo to represent space, created grass and trees to represent land, and tribal patterns to represent culture. I chose this color scheme because it helps bring out color and the objects that are used in the composition. I really like this wallpaper because it really brighten ups your desktop, especially when you have the lights off in your room.

“City Life” is about my expression while listening to r&b music. I choose a city environment because It makes me feel at home and comfortable with life. I have my head bowed down and eyes closed to show my expression when it comes to music that touches my heart. I did the values and details through Illustrator and then imported it into Photoshop adding more details. Overall I feel that this piece works with the expression that I am trying to give, which is the passion for the truth of heart.

“Planet” is my first attempt to draw outer space from scratch using Photoshop. Within this piece I used brushes, blends and blurs to make the planets more realistic with atmospheres. I also stated facts about each object to demonstrate more realism. In my opinion for my first attempt these planets look very real, and I like the outcome of the detail I put in into the planets.

I placed my title here next to me because the eye reads from left to right and it lets the viewer know this is more of an imaginary concept.

“Dream” is a project I did from an actual dream I had. The dream was about me being in a city that is controlled by music and sound equipment. The actual environment was made up of car audio parts and the basic needs that make up a sound system. I made a robot to give the piece emphasis and a stronger focal point.

“Taj Mahal” is a photo I took in Atlantic City, NJ. It is one of the most famous Casino’s on the east coast, and I was just fascinated by the art and style from the engineers. This was more of a freestyle project and I felt it had to go in my collection of art and inspirations.

“Bones” is a typography piece that I did that is related to my other graphic Skull & Bones. I first started with a piece of graph paper and sketched out each letter. I then scanned the graph paper and imported it into Illustrator. After tracing and making the correct proportions, I made the letters out of bones. The final step was to wrap each letter with leafs and flowers and keep each letter proportionate with spacing.

This is the banner and place where the listener buys the beat.

“Atek 9″ is my beat name for my audio production. I came up with this name because I am a very technical person and like to explore different ways in creating nice bass and rhythms. I cam up with this design because I wanted to created my very own special 3d’ish room. I represented my self with angel wings because in a way it relates to my logo. All the details you see on this page are created by me and done from scratch. Lots of critical thinking on this piece and proud of the final product.

The chin hair is made of actual barbwire. Which is used throughout the rest of the face.

This custom number 9 is the artists favorite number. I placed it on his head because it gives a sense of symbolism.

This chain is also made out of the number 9. The emblem that connects the chain is a T 9. Which means Tech 9.

“Tech N9ne” is an inspirational album cover for the rapper named Tech N9ne.The text for the title Tech N9ne is custom made and the tool I used was the box tool in Illustrator. What assisted me in the spacing was the graph view option. I then used a photo of Tech N9ne and vectorized it, the next step was to illustrate the artists favorite number “9″ throughout the composition. I placed this number on the sun glasses, necklace, and skin. I also made the chain and hair out of barb wire.

What I love most about this project is the different ways I used the drag and drop function and coded it in several ways that make each section different.

Arcetek Online Magazine  is a prototype website for building and interior architecture. The purpose of this magazine is to present a vision for new designs and innovating the public with upcoming projects. The business aspect is to provide content for architecture and to give a good view of what’s going on in the architect world. Arcetek is a nonprofit organization and is only a prototype for presenting information about innovative architecture.

I hand drew this shoe from an actual DC shoe I had. I placed a threshed city on the lip of the shoe.

I also placed the custom DC logo onto the heel of the shoe.

“DC Mag” is an illustration about the DC Shoes Company and matching the style of their footwear. I decided to incorporate my own style, which is like a grungy and rusty kind of feeling. I will say that this piece is classified as graffiti and grunge mixed together. My vision for this piece is to keep a street art look but also keep in mind that this company makes shoes for skateboarders and athletes. I thought about using text to talk about the company but instead I drawn out the shoes as if it was in a display case. When I say display case, I mean by how they display shoe and the different perspectives of the shoe (Side view and bottom view of the shoe).

This is the award I won from DJ Atek.

“DJ Atek” is a illustration about the movement of Hip Hop with graffiti art. My main focus for this piece is to keep the my concepts illustrated with graffiti and to keep the consistency of the hip hop style. One way I demonstrated this was placing the graffiti onto a brick wall pattern. This is my very first project in attempting to create graffiti art by using Photoshop. I drew the title “DJ Atek” in illustrator which is my actual producer name. I chose this color scheme because most graffiti art is highly vibrant and colorful. The city was drawn with the two point perspective method and then flipped to be symmetrical, making the focal point on the man in the middle, which is me.

This is the focal point of the piece and my concept is to represent the lifestyle of techno.

I took this word love from a panting I did and used it as a brush. The purpose of this word is to show the love of techno music.

I used my name on here to symbolize I made this piece.

The environment I chose was metro because it is one of the most common places that people listen to music.

My very first award.

“Aquadratic” is about my vision of how the world would end in a dramatic disaster. The sun and comets smashing into the earth’s ocean causing enormous tidal waves. The sun is ten times bigger than earth so I only showed a part of it in the picture so it would be a reasonable theory. I rendered the ocean and clouds in Bryce 5 and the color was implemented through Photoshop. Once I pushed this pieced to the public a lot of people gave a round of applause because of the intensity of the vibrant colors.

“Tsunami” is about destruction awaiting to happen to a small island. In no relation to real disasters, I made this piece because I like thunderstorms and I wanted to create realistic storm. I took the picture in Puerto Rico. I made the photo symmetrical and took some cars off, to not make everything the same. I made the waves, lighting and dark clouds with Photoshop. What I like most about this piece is that I can feel that a disaster is coming, which achieves my goal of being realistic.

A personal project about my personality for photography.

“Identity” is a photo about my self identity and the art of typography. Knowing that type can be used on about almost any canvas you can think of, I decided to use beach sand. This photo was also taken in Atlantic City, NJ. What I like most about this photo is that It was drawn free-hand with a stick. Also that you can also see small details and textures, such as footprints. The photo prints can relate to me because my name is with me where ever I go and the fact is I love my name.

Boardwalk is a photo manipulation I did of an old dock located in Atlantic City.

“Boardwalk” is a photograph taken in Atlantic City, NJ. My main focus in this piece is to achieve balance in the principle of art using nature. While I was standing in the middle of the abandoned boardwalk, I had to make sure I was perfectly centered. At first the picture was not symmetrical, so I flipped and blended the wood and made the colors more vibrant. To keep the photo non-symmetrical, I blended the background waves and made them flow throughout the ocean. I also made a custom cloud because the sky was very dull and boring originally.

“Auto” is about bringing out the reality of movement of speed and the vision that I saw in this environment. When I first started this piece, my intention was to focus on the curvature of the land and the colors of the environment. But what was shocking was, when I took the picture I did not notice that there was a motorcycle by the large tree. I decided to change the focal point to the motorcycle. I colored and outlined the motorcycle to make it stand out more. I also added a tire track like pattern to the motorcycle and to the street to give the piece more uniqueness.

“Master Piece” is about a compilation of projects I have done and illustrated them throughout the photo I have taken. I took two pictures and merged them together to make a wider picture to work with. I then blended them together so you could not tell there was two pictures to begin with. I took the pictures in Atlantic City, New Jersey. What I like so much about this piece is that their where so many places for me to detail and I was fascinated of the fact there was snow on the beach. One of the most important things I wanted to keep in mind is the flow of the colors and keep stay within realism.

This is me behind a custom DJ set I made.

Here is my logo in a futuristic hologram view. I also place a pattern on the wall to give the design a sense of dimension.

I incorporated palm trees to give the design a sense of festive and entertainment. Behind the palm trees are my initials.

Same attempt was made from the left side to the right side but this time I placed my logo.

“Construct” is a illustration about vibrant colors and the inspiration of music. The sun was shinning and it was a perfect day to create another piece for my collection. This place is actually between a BMW shop and a DHL express center where I live. I always found this spot interesting because of how much area there is and the fact that it had several canvases for me to design on. The part that troubled me in getting a picture perfect shot was the fact that there must not be any cars in this area. As you can see there are no cars and I felt this was the time to get the perfect shot.

“Skull & Bones” is a naturalistic creature that lives in a city environment.  The location of this piece is in front of the Art Institute of Washington located in Rosslyn, Arlington, VA. To demonstrate more of the creature, I illustrated the vines throughout the city and kept the color scheme vibrant. My main focus for this concept was to keep the constancy and illustrate to the viewer that this is habitat for this creature.

“Drew City” is a custom city using the two point perspective technique. I enjoy city environments and I have always wanted to attempt to create my very own in a realistic tone. This piece was very time consuming and one of the hardest parts was making all of the lines accurate and precise. I used the line tool in Illustrator and transferred my wire frame to Photoshop for detailing. I am very pleased with my final product, and as my office wallpaper, people ask if the city is real, and hearing that question, automatically tells me that I have accomplished my design.

“Text Composition” is a project I did for my typography class when I attended The Art Institute of Washington. The objective of this piece was to choose a quote that can be visualized and expressed through the usage of text. In other words, everything you see on this piece is made up of the sentence “Music is the art of thinking with sounds”. I had a lot of fun making this piece and I really enjoyed using this technique. My inspiration came from the movie Dare Devil. The main character uses the ability called echo location. I used that concept and illustrated it with the quoted text.

I placed myself in the middle of the design and incorporated my initials A.N.L on my neck. I also placed a pattern in the background buildings with my name.

I placed my logo on the top of the clock tower and placed speaker windows.

I made this billboard and a mixture of shapes and placed myself next to it, facing the city.

The right side shows a difference from the left making the design not too symmetrical. I removed some people to accomplish this.

I decided to outline all the windows located onto these buildings. Each shape was drawn from the pen tool in Illustrator.

One day I decided to take a visit to the museums in Washington DC with my friend to get some good photo shots. After viewing some of DC’s fascinating architecture, I was thinking of a new piece specifically about what my world would look like. This idea gave me the title of “Welcome to My World”. After browsing all of my photo shots, I found this photo very interesting because of the different types of architecture and elements, such as the red Corvette or the Starbucks coffee shop.
